“ Restaurant was recommended by family who lived in NY and share it was their favorite pasta restaurant. Started with a refreshing cocktail and some appetizers. The elderflower mint spritz was refreshing. We shared a variety of hand crafted pasta. My favorite pasta was the bucatini! It was flavorful, slightly chewy, firm....perfectly al dente. You can see and taste how much passion and care went into preparing each dish. The restaurant felt cozy and had warm lighting that made the place glow. The quality of service was professional and friendly. ”
“ My friend and I visited Forsythia to catch up after a few months of not seeing each other. We were blown away by the service. All wait staff were so kind, funny, smiley and had great recommendations for our price range. We both got the 4 course prix fixe meal and everything was amazing. For our secondi we had a sort of lamb stew/curry situation and I swear I was going to lick the bowl clean. (But decorum so I resisted) Every course was spaced out so well, we had time to enjoy the wine that was recommended to us and truly catch up. The ambiance of the restaurant was very homey and chic. I would bring a date that I really like, do a double date, or dinner with the parents here. ”
“ The pasta! We got the focaccia, lasagna, carbonara and agnolotti and they were all great and perfectly cooked. I only wish there the lasagna was bigger so I could get more of the delicious crispy bits in the side and bottom. ”
“ Forsythia Layout/atmosphere *Bar area by entrance; tables in room off to left; Pasta Room (cooking class) to the right of entrance Food/drink *Montemelino, Trebbiano, Umbria, 2023 (white) - solid; fruity *House made focaccia (olive oil) - good *White Truffle Suppli (fried risotto, bufala mozzarella, porcini) - good; creamy *Polpette (short rib filing with balsamic) [off menu] - good; short rib tender *Agnolotti (braised short rib, duck jus, chives) - very good; tender pasta; flavorful jus *Maritozzo (sweet brioche, chantilly cream, candied citrus) - good; lot of cream ”
“ Had an amazing time yesterday at Forsythia!! The vibes, food, service were all phenomenal. I went in a party of 4 and dined family style to try as many things as possible! We also had a treasure allergy in the group and the waitress was very attentive to that, which was extremely appreciated. We also split a bottle of red wine that was fantastic. My personal favorites were the suppli, off-menu polpetta, short rib agnolotti, carbonara, skirt steak, and the maritozzo but everything was to die for!! ”
“ Absolutely loved Forsythia for a date night! Gorgeously designed menu. Great service - attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The focaccia is delicious - recommend the honey butter, olive oil & ricotta to accompany. We split the beet salad and arancini - only call out was the prosciutto on the beet salad was “fried / crispy” vs fresh. For pastas we ordered the lasagna which is a MUST order - perfectly crisp, and the agnolotti short rib pasta. I did not love the agnolotti - would try a different pasta next time. For dessert we had the stracciatella gelato - so yummy and perfect palate cleanser. Must order. The vibe of the restaurant was so cute - brick walls, intimate, warm, inviting. Even the candle in the bathroom smelled like a wood cabin campfire - invoking a comforting, home-like atmosphere. ”
“ One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in NYC! This place is lovely, delicious, and the staff is so knowledgeable. Perfect for a special occasion. ”
“ Exceptional. Top 3 restaurants in NYC. Good Italian is hard to come by. Did the 6 course tasting menu. Kind, attentive and not oppressive service. Chestnut pasta and mortadella tortellini soup were so delicious and unique. The egg yolk gelato with balsamic was exceptional, too. Thank you! ”
